Not saying it's okay to have sex with 15 year old's, but you don't know that Brooks knew she was only 15. He may've simply thought her a prostitute and not considered her age, thinking he's in a 'business transaction', and didn't know what she was going thru otherwise. He may have had no idea he was 'her attacker', IOW.

IIRC, she murdered this guy in his sleep, not to fight off a sexual attack in the moment.

5 years probation for murdering someone in their sleep is still pretty lenient, given our system of laws are not based on vigilantism.

If this said she murdered the actual trafficker rather than someone who could've been a 'john' essentially, then I'd think even the 5 years was too harsh, esp. for a 15 yo.

But in this case I think it's at least very possible she got a fair sentence, and either way, should've just served it as proscribed by the judge.
