69. People are giving it more power

One of the first rules to fighting fascism is to not use the fascist's language, don't give it power. That's why I've always cringed when people started saying "Fake News", or "Bigly", or a number of other things.

Groomers/grooming is being used politically to suggest people are pedophiles. Instead of using groomers, people on the left should have been challenging the word's use from the start. Instead we went years without challenging it, and we've ended up with a lot of violence towards the LGTBQ community.

Just once, when Republicans used it, I would have liked to see a media member stop them and ask, "Groomers? Please explain your use of that word. Are you suggesting LGTBQ people, or teachers are pedophiles? Do you not see how damaging this word is?"
