In reply to the discussion: Ivanka Has The Fucking Nerve To Call Herself A Jew [View all]ancianita

Jan 20 2021?
I wouldn't call her silence complicity.
What more likely defines her silence is that she's been so done with her dad since his term was over and he denied it.
Why do you accord her so much influence over her white nationalist dad; she's probably as put out with him as you are, but knows he's desperate to keep his base for 2024. Why do you demand she prove her faith when things are going badly enough for all of them.

Raised as a Presbyterian Christian,[224] Trump converted to Orthodox Judaism in July 2009,[225][226] after studying with Elie Weinstock from the Modern Orthodox Ramaz School.[227] Trump took the Hebrew name "Yael" (Hebrew: יָעֵל, lit. 'ibex').[228][229] She describes her conversion as an "amazing and beautiful journey" which her father supported "from day one", adding that he has "tremendous respect" for the Jewish faith.[230] She attests to keeping a kosher diet and observing the Jewish Sabbath, saying in 2015: "We're pretty observant... It's been such a great life decision for me... I really find that with Judaism, it creates an amazing blueprint for family connectivity. From Friday to Saturday we don't do anything but hang out with one another. We don't make phone calls."[231] When living in New York City, she used to send her daughter to Jewish kindergarten. She said: "It's such a blessing for me to have her come home every night and share with me the Hebrew that she's learned and sing songs for me around the holidays."[230]
Trump and her husband made a pilgrimage to the grave of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, a popular prayer site, shortly before her father's election victory.[225][232] On May 22, 2017, the couple also accompanied her father on his first official visit to Israel as president. As part of the trip to Israel, her father became the first sitting U.S. president to visit the Western Wall .[233] Ivanka also visited the Yad Vashem Holocaust memorial in western Jerusalem and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in the Christian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem during the trip.[234]

Is your issue about religion being used as a political tool and not being used as a political tool? Because religions have been embroiled in American politics since Father Coughlin in the 30's.

Agree but I think we can all agree that she has forfeited her right to say, "never again".
