Many talking heads and media pundits were delighted because it was further evidence of Democrats In Disarray. Some DUers loved the idea of fighting the GOP's rude, disreputable, narcissistic asshole with a rude, disreputable, narcissistic asshole of our own. Fortunately Avenatti's manifold sins and wickednesses started to catch up with him at about that time, and we were at least spared that embarrassing spectacle.
