The death and damage these diseases did to people was terrible.

After she retired and saw parents starting to refuse vaccinations for the children, she couldn't understand it.

Once we were having lunch at a restaurant and the child next to us was doing horrific coughing.
My mother said that child has whooping cough and has not been vaccinated.

My mother was disgusted and sad for the child.
