17. I find the politics of the whole thing fascinating. It's about race but it is also about gender.

First with Diana and now with Meaghan, I have spent hours in the black hole of history on my google machine. Colonization, first country to ban slavery, how differently the British, Belgians and French governed/treated the people in the countries they colonized.

Imagine living in a time when people believed, honestly believed, colonization helped the colonies. How in some cases it did. How the colonization of India started.

This is the "next" chapter in the history of a branch of "our" people and it has as much to do with politics as it does with fashion. And of course, I always hope it will lead to a final reckoning of sorts.

And to watch Harry realize the parallels of how his wife and his mother were treated. And his oh so earnest attempt to "save" Meaghan as if he could have his mother.

Meaghan was an independent, self sufficient, in some ways famous in her own right woman. Who thought it would work to lock her up in the tower?
