10. Where was the New York Times? As usual, not wanting to affect the election

You know how the Times hate influencing elections. Like in 2004, when the Times sat on a story about the Bush administration spying on citizens, not publishing until December after Bush had been safely re-elected. Of course, not publishing affects the election, too, but that's not a concern for the Times. Unless it can be used in the week before election day to damage the Democratic candidate.
