you never own anything
everything on a rent/lease/subscription plan.
Heated seats in your car? Subscription (already trial ballooned)
Software (look at adobe, quick books, etc)? Subscription
Music? Subscription
I believe this trend will creep/leap till you own NOTHING
and have no choice in the matter. Already hearing rumors that Apple plans to ONLY lease one of their planned future iPhones. Anything but the most trivial consumables will be by subscription/lease.
IF we let them.
