There were wall to wall ant-Democratic candidate ads. There were also very frequent negative mailers.

One mailer for NY-3 Republican candidate Anthony D'Esposito claimed that he had the endorsements of the PBA and Nassau County police unions.

It was a lie. Those unions had endorsed Democrat Laura Gillen.
