Many of us have mighty big shoulders here, but we’re not all-seeing and all-knowing as much as many of us would like to be.

That’s why it’s good that you’ve shared this. Please know there are some truly wonderful souls on here. Quite a few of us limped, or stumbled, or groped our way to this sanctuary after GOP victories of various times. And the same for those of us sitting up, awake into the wee hours, after a calamity or death of a loved one, and can’t get to sleep, and we find our way here (I’ve certainly been there). And it’s a beacon at the entrance to a safe harbor for sure.

I hope you stick around. And I hope you avail yourself of some of the wisdom and sympathy, and genuine empathy here. I love quoting DU’s own treasure, Skittles, who once posted that “someone’s always here.” I saw that message awhile back when I was in a moody place and it was such a comfort just reading those words! Just those three words! That was enough to remind myself that no one’s really alone if they’re part of DU.

Someone’s always here. Someone’s always awake. Someone’s always checking in, posting, sharing, commiserating, ready to listen and understand, and there’s a world of wisdom and expertise here that can be tremendously helpful. It’s a big crazy family.

And that’s where YOU are, ybbor. You’re here and you’re part of us and you don’t need to feel quite so alone or isolated. Someone’s always here. From anywhere, in any time zone, at any point on the compass or the clock. And someone’s very likely to be able to say something or share something that will broaden your understanding, sit with you and share, and maybe even help heal your heart.
