They can't really pass meaningful policy in any area except one - they can fail to pass a budget or increase the debt ceiling. That is the end game here - cause a catastrophic economic collapse in the hopes of at a minimum gutting the social safety net and in their dream scenario, establishing one-party rule. In the meantime, they will entertain Newsmax and Fox News viewers with Hunter Biden hearings, Fauci hearings, possibly Joe Biden impeachment hearings.

The thought of 6 or 8 (not sure which number is accurate) Republicans crossing the aisle to vote for Jeffries is not going to happen. Maybe another Dem - but not him.

...or, we can get someone with whom we have policy disagreements, but who believes in government as we know it.
