I agree that some of Trump’s pre- and extra-presidential activities, especially money laundering, could fall under RICO, but no one, not even Letitia James or SDNY has chosen to prosecute him under organized crime statutes.

Cries of “RICO!!!” are quite often uninformed, desperate pleas from the frustrated, hence the need for the Popehat explainer.
