who is traveling to San Antonio to see his son tomorrow and wanted to come by and visit (Austin area) on his way home. I told him I would love to see him but I just don't want to take a chance on getting sick because I have two kinds of cancer and although I am in remission my immune system is subpar and I just don't want to take a chance on getting sick. He has had a bad cold (or something) for the last 4-6 weeks and is much better now. But regardless of that I am content to isolate myself with my DW and I tried to explain that to him but he was offended?? I talk to him on a regular basis but I still feel a bit guilty. But I honestly do not want to take a chance on getting sick and I feel like that should be my decision.

I'm mostly disappointed in my friends attitude. Given the choice - seeing him or continuing to stay healthy - I chose to not take a chance.

Am I being extreme? I can't help it. I'm 72 and having gone through Chemo, radiation, and now getting over it I just do not want to take a chance.....did I say that already

Any feedback would be appreciated - please be totally honest.
