the same reasons. DOMINANCE.
Which of course is about Control, but it punctuates the matter better for me because I know it's also about an inherent intention to spawn offspring which reflects who *they* are thereby manifesting more power over others and their environment.
A fevered pitched purpose driven of an extremely desperate need to maintain power, control and dominance.
There has to be a single word descriptor but I just don't have it at the tip of my fingers at the moment.

I feel like the term "Control" is insufficient to define what this is, but I haven't found....
