In December 2019, a Republican strategist asked me (why me, I have no idea) who I thought the Democratic nominee would be in 2020. I said Joe Biden, who was polling around 3% at the time. She was very surprised, and asked, based on what? I said all others would stumble on one of several factors: recognition, funding, position rigidity, timing, etc. I said Biden would be the last man standing, and hed win a huge margin, at least in the popular vote. I felt it was a no-brainer, even if he was not my personal preference. And sure enough, it was. At the time, I guess most people would have thought I was crazy, but I live in Europe, and do not live on a steady diet of American media. Maybe that helped.
