7. I got through high school on chocolate milk. 3 for 25 cents

Never had lunch made for me and I for some reason never made sandwiches to bring. We weren't poor, there was food in the house, but I just never wanted to bring lunch with me. I would find 25 cents somewhere and you could get 3 chocolate milks for that in our cafeteria. Had a friend who would sometimes split his cheese sandwich with me. Until I was working senior year and had money for the salad bar which they would charge a set fee for and I'd open the plastic container and fill both sides with salad, it'd be the biggest meal of the day I think for $2.50.

The fact we feed children garbage in schools is an absolute tragedy at this point. It's the 1 chance we have to help kids develop healthy eating habits. Feeding them sugar is a huge problem.

And "vegan juice"? What the hell are they even talking about? Isn't that just called juice?
