His point was that the fake elector scheme was so serious that it should have been investigated by DOJ way before it was, DOJ even waited for a criminal referral from Michigan.

It is harder to gather evidence to convict the longer DOJ waits to investigate.

Look what we found out from Cassidy Hutchinson (the J6 committee discovered it) Trump was providing lawyers for the witnesses and coaching them to say they don't remember. The longer DOJ waits the more time the crooks have to stick to a story, memories fade, data is lost. What do I know? We can always GOTV.
