The local mall in my town was razed last year, after most of the stores went under or bugged out. One "anchor" store, Belk, is still standing, but otherwise, every last brick is gone. The area is about to become an open-air shopping center and condominium complex. The same thing is going on at the local mall near my sister's house in Phoenix. It's weird not having a mall around, but rarely went there, anyway. After Sears left, I never could find what I was looking for there.
