In reply to the discussion: A lot of red states now want to leave the union. [View all]Liberal In Texas
(16,279 posts)99. There is no STATE wanting to seceed. Just some RWNJs. We just have more than our share here.
After Perry's comments (in 2009) received news coverage, Rasmussen Reports (we know how liberal they are) found that about 1 in 3 of those it polled believed that Texas has the right to secede from the United States, although only 18% would support secession and 75% would oppose secession. In another poll, 60% of Texans surveyed opposed becoming an independent nation. However, 48% of Texas Republicans surveyed supported it. The reaction from outside the state was also strongly split, including those who wanted to get rid of Texas. - from Wikipedia

Yes. Many neo-confederates will no doubt try - as they did when Biden was elected.

The christofascists in various states at various times have bitched about seceding.

Please if they seceded, within a week one red state would be at war with another red state.

The people who want to leave are actually in the minority. They are loud, stupid, & dangerous...

Very dumb idea. Every red state has many (just not a majority) of good Democrats.

Some states give more than they get and some states get more than they give.
