The have at least doubled in price in the last in the last 8 to 10 years, and have went up 500 to 700 plus per cent I do believe since the 1990s when my parents bought the unit (and kept as an investment after they moved back to London, they have let (rented) it out for ages) we lived in when I was born. My wife and I lived in it whilst I was going to uni there (she worked full time), and yes, we paid them rent (and paid all utilities), albeit not market value, lol, we got the fam discount.
Our HOA was super chill, but some of the complexes' HOAs in La Villa Marina are quite the little condo commandos (par for the course from all I have seen of America, including reading tales of woe on DU from some posters, although Swedish bostadsrättsförening, i.e. condo boards, can be every bit as crazy and nasty, the Swedish rental/ownership system us so complex and maddening for so many,, especially our rental system (we own here thank fuck), which is INSANE, not at ALL like the US or the UK, it is a massive weak part of the entire country's underpinnings). My cousin on mummy's side now lives in the LA unit, after she sold her Santa Monica home that she got half of in her divorce settlement (a whole other nightmare story that was, arfff).
