Once again, why do some on the left continue to give Republicans the benefit of the doubt?

Of course Republicans in Congress would not be willing to do such a thing.

Do you really believe there is even a 1% chance they would?

Really?

Zero chance this ever happens, especially with McCarthy as Speaker. He will never bring such a bill up because that would be the end of his Speakership immediately.

Come on, now.

To help you out with this, yes, Republicans want to win at all costs, but if they lose their current leadership position (e.g., McCarthy) or lose in a primary to a more extreme opponent (e.g., pretty much any Republican that would ever vote to legalize abortion), they won't be winning at all costs, will they? They themselves will be losing.
