1. The Democrats IMO have always sucked on messaging. Accomplishments never seem to reach the public.

Some of it is, of course, the media in the US. Fox blasts 7x24, for example, in so many places. Most voters I come across are clueless ... and I think many people just do not bother to research unless it hits them in the nose.
