...once it was eventually released anyway, using his rationale, because it is such a despised opinion.

So, completely ignoring his stupid take on it and substituting an actual logical explanation that was provided before, one of the conservative types released it to put pressure on the others to make it an even more restrictive decision than it otherwise was.
