I wouldn't be so quick to rehabilitate the term, or ideology. Conservatism in the sense of wanting slower, incremental change may have some appeal, but that is not what Conservatism is actually about.

Conservatism from the ideological perspective, is about how society should be formed. Ian Danskin from Innuendo Studios said it better than I so I am putting this here:
