In reply to the discussion: I want to leave Florida. It ain't that easy [View all]onethatcares
(16,165 posts)133. the dilema seems to be for us anyway
where to move to with the same or close to same climate or closeness to the water. Georgia? See MTG, South Carolina? RWNJ in a smaller package, Louisiana? Floods/hurricanes/RWNJs? Alabama? RWNJs, Texas? Beginning to see the problem? North Carolina? Gerrymandering, religious RWNJs, Arizona? No beach access, New Mexico? definitely no beach access.
Toss in the educational systems of those states, the taxes applied to those citizens and the cost of living further north, you see the difficulty in transplanting one at the age of over 70?

It's called a Palmetto Bug and we don't consider them roaches even though they are. They do fly.

Florida will survive DeSantis just as it survives every other storm that passes through it.

The changes are in small increments so you don't really notice. Then they reach a tipping point.

Careful with Oregon (and many other states). Only the coast is somewhat liberal.
