The Debt Ceiling Deal Blows Up Republican Biden Narrative [View all]

The more Republican MAGA cultists condemn the debt ceiling deal that has been agreed to and shout that McCarthy caved, they undercut their asshole narrative that President Biden is too old to govern and appears senile.

If that were the case, wouldn't the Repukes have been able to take advantage of him?

Instead, Biden got the big pluses on this deal. 2 years, so the debt ceiling debate can't be used during the upcoming election. The permitting included green energy. The work requirement is an empty box. 54 years old instead of 49, but still excludes anyone with dependents, veterans and the homeless. Really a nothing burger, no matter how much it's touted by McCarthy. Biden's defense dept. increase of 3.5% remains part of the deal. All in all, from my perspective, it's really not a lot. It holds spending to 1% a year (which can change in any annual budget if we gain the majority). In the meantime, it makes Biden look like a true moderate. A capable and effective leader. And blows up the narrative that he is incapable of governing.

In short, even though I would have personally rather have had President Biden tell McCarthy and the Maga cultists to go fuck themselves and invoked the 14th amendment, but I can live with this.
