Would be a hazard, esp in the middle of the floor
The 2 large pipes on the right are connected to each other at the top
I also see an anomaly in the wall on the right, just past the large pipes
it seems the wall drops back there, by how much is unclear
As far as the 1/2 wall/copier
a 1/2 wall might have a cap block to finish it, but that looks like 2 blocks of different thicknesses
its really unclear
I still think it could be a copier 🤔

Looks like a short wall of the same concrete or cinder block material as the wall on the right,

I see a filing cabinet (side drawers, not front) with a ream of paper and a cardboard mailer on top.

Depending on the copier that thing might have a hard drive and a copy of everything it's..

Having worked in IT supporting large and small offices I doubt that is a copier.

It could be a copier, or a dehumidifier, or a washing machine or probably a dozen more items.
