3. I wouldn't even say humankind had a decent run

I think there’s a consensus among scientists that it’s been 1 million years, give or take, since humanoids started evolving the ability to use fire to cook meat, providing the stimulus for evolving larger brains. Fat lot of good it’s done us. We’ve irretrievably fouled our nest to the extent that many other species will die as well.

Life will go on in some form. Perhaps. Just spitballing here, but if accelerating rates of heating from the sun continue, could a self-sustaining chain reaction turn this planet into Venus 2.0?
