The use of fossil fuels has made it possible and is now necessary for the survival of the eight billion that already live. The population continues to grow.
I think we passed the point of no return decades ago. Temperatures will continue to rise, the glaciers will continue to melt, and fossil fuel use will continue to increase until we have burned all the fossil fuel we can find.
Back when Jimmy Carter was President, he had solar panels installed on the White House. Nearly half a century later, over 80% of our electricity still comes from fossil fuels and electricity used has more than doubled.
