Granted, it was a small margin (less than 1,000 I think) but shutting down the recount vote in Miami (by the Brooks Brothers rioters, nearly all of whom were staffers of R Congressman and affiliated PACs) meant that GWB could get away with stealing the election.

The study of actual FL votes was done by a consortium of news organizations. Gore won. It was finalized and due to be published on Sept. 12th, 2001 but obviously was not published until some time later. We were still living through the 9-11 trauma for quite a while and it didn't get nearly the attention it should have. Most people I talk to about this don't know it was done and don't know what the conclusion was.

It's a shame.
