(26,257 posts)like TX handle future extreme weather events (whose governor mocks prior problems in his state (freezes, heat waves, etc., still doesn't address upgrading the infrastructure)).
I remember MTG stating that 'liberals' who moved to southern GOP-ruled states should not be allowed to vote until some period of time later. Since these southern folks are moving north to escape their situation of adverse weather conditions, perhaps the same sort of rule should apply (a tit for tat rule, since the GOP insists on one).
There also should be some sort of infrastructure fee that these folks should pay, when they move back into these northern communities. In a way, HOAs are doing this in a lot of places anyways, so why not? Northern communities had built out their communities and usually have excellent infrastructure and being that so many of these folks who fled south escaped paying their fair share of the road taxes etc. to pay for the northern improvements (who returned North), it's fair (IMHO).
I do know that every state is different in their taxing schemes, so it's a challenge to compare state by state, but I do think sometimes, that in some states, some states do take advantage of tourists/visitors. A tax known as the tourism tax is a good example. I know it's extreme, but I do get tired of hearing about 'this and that' tax issues, south vs. north. We all live in the same Country, but sometimes you sure can't tell the difference.
