(4,002 posts)I'm a fairly friendly person. I don't say "I Hate You" much. But I really hate these guys. They want to turn America into a Christo-Fascist Theocracy. Totally against what the founding fathers intended. Freedom of Religion must also mean Freedom FROM religion. If you want the Bible in your schools, kids can bring one in their book bag. No law against that. I googled "Small Travel Bible for Sale" and found the KJV Economy New Testament and Psalms for $2.00 online. It's 2 3/4" by 4 1/2". Have at it.
As for religion in school. Which one? I've read there are over 4,000 different religions in the world. In America another article I read said there are SEVEN main religions in America. Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and unaffiliated including atheists and agnostics. But each of those have offshoots. Christianity encompasses everything from Pentecostal to Catholic to Mormonism to Southern Baptist to Protestant to Methodist to others. We all know they sure don't agree on much.
As for the Bible in school. Which one? Over the centuries it has been rewritten, translated, reinterpreted, revised and updated. We also must remember it was written by MEN not God or Jesus or the Holy Ghost. It has contradictions in different books and passages. How do you explain those to kids? After all... if you're going to "teach" the Bible to school kids you need to teach them EVERYTHING. If not you're just a hypocrite... oh wait, you ARE a Repubqcan.
