Reminder - It's not Tubberville holding up nomintions, it's 51 votes in the senate [View all]
The rules Tubberville is abusing can be changed by a majority vote in the senate. All that takes is 50 dems, plus harris. We have 51 dems.
So clearly Tubberville is not the issue here, though he is certainly the cause. Sure, he could just stop being an ass and nominations and promotions could proceed. But he won't stop.
The rules can change, but he has the support of 50 other senators. (at least).
Think about that. Some of those 50 have a (D) next to their name.
