(1 post)My older sister retired and got Humana Medicare Advantage Regional PPO
She had to be hospitalized for several days a couple of months ago because of a suspected stroke. During her stay the doctors ordered several tests MRI, CT scan, ultrasound. All of them were done inside the hospital. She is at home and doing ok now.
So far she has not seen the big bills from the hospital except an invoice for the $90 ER copay. I understand there will be copays for the room because room copays are in her policy.
However she has received multiple invoices from radiology demanding several hundred dollars (a percentage from each test). I called both the radiology company and Humana and both of them said she is responsible.
Well, I looked up Medicare and found that Medicare Part A pays for all inpatient tests ordered and performed during a hospital stay.
So my question is: Is my sister really responsible for the balance on the inpatient tests she received during her hospitalization?
Thank you in advance.
