...to situations like this. And not the situations of scary stories you hear about shelters.
Occasionally I've seen interesting FB articles on small semi-temporary housing unit for a single person set up in different countries.

But as to
"I guess the honest truth is that we humans often find animals to be better companions/friends than humans..."
I just wonder sometimes what kind ?nasty people (a general) you keep running into your (depending) neighborhood, small town, school, workplace etc that make you feel this way?
Can it sometimes be an aspect of serious Introvertism? I have only had one genuinely Introvert friend over the past 15+ yrs (I'm 70 ). Learned what it can be like for her (plenty of articles she's sent me! ). I'm an ambivert, but more on the extrovert side. Pandemic lockdown became more difficult each warm weather return as I really missed the energy of being out on the streets of NYC! (not a crushing crowd, though 😯 )
Can it be the interests, and possibly personality aspects that may not -fit- in a certain area?
I have had a few different nasty types of interpersonal experiences. Snobby girl clique in 4th - 6th grade, but also Artistically talented like myself.
An -incompetent- roommate who still was bringing home strange men to help her with the getting the building, and apt door open. A roommate who turned verbally, and physically abusive while I struggled to get out of there after it didn't stop, and got worse (it's complex).Only if I showed up with bruuses, or serious cuts could something be done
So I've experienced nasty, and (while not the worst) real nasty & scary!
Usually my experiences with people are nuetral to quite friendly. I have a range of shorter, medium, long, and very long friendships. Along with a bunch of people between long good acquaintences to friendships. And still making new acquaintences that sone might turn into friendships as I somewhat reccently moved.
I really hope these thoughts, questions, hypothesises haven't offended anyone (not my intention! ). I wouldn't be considered a typical "average" person either in certain positive, and probably a bit negative in a couple of ways. Wouldn't hold myself as a paragon of virture. Do my best to be thoughtful, considerate, kind, as I was taught. Playful, and funny.

Awful. Perhaps he could find someone who needs a roommate, or just has a room to rent?
