(61,151 posts)It may be that NOT acting this way may seem to lead to a quick trial with a very real possibility of being convicted. He may see his behavior as intentionally trying to disrupt that process.
Here, he is accusing the judge of being conflicted, when there is, to my knowledge, no apparent conflict. He has no guarantee of getting all right leaning judges. There likely were more grounds for Smith to reject Cannon. Additionally, his idea of first amendment rights ignores that the rights do not preclude consequences if your speech is toxic. This is true speaking of this time and January 6.
Now, he ignores that the judge set conditions for him NOT BEING HELD IN JAIL. He could have abided by the terms, even as he campaigned for President. For him, that would be hard because his current campaign seems to have a huge part of 2020 CT and he always has attacked everyone he perceives not with him.
He obviously thinks he is too important, powerful etc to jail.
