(60,728 posts)14. My daughter's classmates on the Big Island are OK,
But some up the Kohala coast lost their houses, and one who didn't lose the entire house did get her roof blown off. The one in South Kona was unaffected as fare as we have heard. My daughter's school is apparently OK, which is important, since the eldest son of her partner just arrived there to start his high school year abroad. My daughter graduated there in 2003.

Sigh... There are some harrowing stories coming out of the fire zone. They are in my prayers.
