I try to view these things objectively. I have to be honest with myself, and recognize that long ago, I drove drunk. And drunk people do not think in a sober manner. In July of 1975, a friend who I had been riding around with -- drinking and smoking pot -- was two vehicles ahead of me when he hit another car head-on, killing two innocent people and himself. After that, when drunk, I rode with equally drunk people driving, somehow convincing myself I was playing it safe.
