(7,002 posts)It stands to reason that government agencies are just as riddled with MAGA traitors as our general population is. There's no reason to expect that the Department of Justice is any exception, and that it's immune to the rot that Hartmann describes in the Department of Defense and the Department of State.
When Merrick Garland took the helm at DOJ, he would have known that that there were many hardcore MAGAs scattered high and low throughout his department and its agencies. People who would put Trump over country, and who would actively impede and sabotage investigations into the insurrection while leaking secrets and tipping off targets.
It would be difficult and painstaking work for him to thread his way through such a minefield of would-be saboteurs. Isn't it possible that's part of the reason investigations proceeded at such an aggravatingly slow pace before finally picking up speed and snowballing the way they have?
