We dog folks don't do ourselves any favors if the pretend that 'every breed is the same'. It just reinforces what people already "know", and leads to all kind of regulations/bans. Owning a pit-type breed is a huge responsibility (as is owning an Akita Inu or whatever) - we can't go on pretending they're not prone to dog on dog aggression if not properly handled.

I actually have some experience With GSD/wolf mixes. Beautiful, but insanely volatile. Maybe the dog you're talking about was just that

As for the reactions to the dogs in the pic (always sad to see dogs in such a situation). The male looks like just another dog, and the female is being submissive. A natural reaction. Seems like normal dog interaction (based on that pic alone).
