Price doesn't really matter. Modern batteries will last the lifetime of the vehicle.

I charge my PHEV in my carport. The charger is in the garage. We have not noticed any higher elec.

People adjust to the price of gas. The problem with EV's is how the electric is made.

Maybe. Panels for just a car would be less, but there are many routes to cleaner power.
