Conveniently unfettered by actual facts - which would confuse and bewilder them - they eagerly consume a fantasy narrative that touches on all their own core beliefs and emotions. The stories resonate with people who are paranoid, people who feel powerless and are comforted to learn that none of their failures and misfortunes are their own fault. Instead, it's the fault of "those people" - a powerful group of meanies who have teamed up to take over the world.

Sadly, they're not wrong. There are a powerful group of meanies trying to take over the world. They're the people these confused Q followers believe and idolize: Putin, Trump, the Saudis, random billionaires.
