This was a simple "continuing resolution". Sometimes called a "stop gap spending bill". This bill keeps the gov running for another 45 days (at current spending levels) to give more time to negotiate a final spending bill. Yeah, it didn't include any additional funds for Ukraine beyond what has already been allocated, but it also dropped the Republican demand to cut SS benefits and other nonsense.

Summary: this is NOT the final bill, this just keeps the lights on for 6 weeks to allow negotiations to continue. Nobody has been abandoned yet.


Hopefully the extra 6 weeks of Republican dysfunctional antics further erodes their support in the public's eye and makes their bargaining position even weaker than it is now.
