has successfully targeted Hamas leaders, and if they had the intelligence they could do that approach again.

Once they enter Gaza I don't think it will just be Hamas. I pretty sure Hezbolah and other parties will join the fight, with a real possibility of Syria and Iran as proxies of Russia.

Once this starts, I don't think this is going to be a short war, with the real possibility of expansion.
