of them forming their own nation. Instead of living in what seems like a ghetto, they could rebuild to an ethnic elegance and have something going for it.

Keeping in mind that their desalination plant was blasted to smithereens, they will need help with that. Here's an opportunity for the UN to aid them with their utilities. I think (I could be mistaken here) that they were aided in the past by someone and they dug up the pipes to use for rockets, but the past is the past. With no more utilities coming from Israel, they might want to rethink that attitude. Their electricity can be fostered and rebuilt without nuclear involvement. So, I think that can be solved without dependence on Israel. I think that immediately following the war, their utilities should be supported by Israel, but with some reasonable timeline for severance supervised by the UN.

They should be required to hold another election, supervised by the UN. If they reelect members of Hamas, or those that turn into Hamas, they should thoroughly understand that they will be leveled if they ever, ever launch another attack on Israel. And yes, there should be a separation zone, but no, not sudden death for violators.

The West Bank should be kicked free as well. It is my understanding that these two groups of Palestinians don't like each other, and can't be joined together. Whatever. Israel should move settlers out.

I don't favor in particular walls around either of these nations, but it would only be on the Israeli sides, and it seems that these groups of people truly hate one another, so maybe it's necessary. Every nation on Earth has some kind of border. These borders will just need to be a little stronger than normal.

If neither one of the Palestinian groups wants to be a nation, then yes, we will know. It's not easy to be a nation, but if they want it, they should have it. I think it's clear that they can't mix. But, there can be peace treaties, agreements, and prosperity. And, they should understand that they can't make war, or support war against Israel. If they think they can resupply and start up again, well, FAFO.
