(964 posts)the average citizen but as the wife of a Czech-Ukrainian-Bohemian w/family members in Russia, trust me when people tell you, including me, to say that this situation is NOT popular at all, is putting it mildly. Of course, there are lunatics who are giddy over what's going on but that's a very small number. comparitvely speaking. You hear people saying that they've got no opinion or that they "support" putin because remember that he looks at himself as a reincarnation of Stalin & you do know what Stalin became imfamous for, right? Does the name "GULAG ARCHIPELAGO" mean anything to you? These people aren't stupid & a few of them are old enough to have had friends, family or even themselves spent some time there... Hell, Homey likes to push folks out of windows, shoot them out of the sky or serve Polonium tea. PEOPLE AREN'T STUPID ENOUGH TO PLACE THEMSELVES &/or people they love in the bullseye by revealing their true feelings openly, online, to potential pollsters or "journalists".
This is NOT Russia's War, it's Putin's war. Don't get it twisted. Russians love their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews etc as much as other people around the globe do. They're NOT happy with this at all & they're seeing young men & women killing or being killed & noncombatants are being maimed &/or dying; babies, children, youth, mamas & daddies. the elderly, the disabled, ad nauseum...UNNECESSARILY! Don't get me started on kidnapping Ukrainian children.
Putin will find himself dying in the same fashion Stalin did. Look that up. His demonic luck is and will run out sooner rather than later, mark my words. It's just a matter of time.
