that probably isn't among the most likely scenarios. It was the goal of a couple of NYS prison escapees a few years back, and this guy is know to be a "outdoors man." That made it less likely, on the surface, that he would be hiding in a house he either owns or is familiar with, rather than out in a forest.

However, investigators would be aware of if he is organized or disorganized. It was evident that he put some planning into this. Yet both places he attacked were soft targets. He was not wearing body armor last night, giving the impression he was not focused on surviving if the police found him right away. He did, however, have an escape plan, as he dumped his vehicle and got away some other way. Also, since there are pictures of him bowling in the past, it seems likely he was familiar with the places he shot up.

I don't know if he is in the house being reported on now, but it seems likely. I don't think that this is the same approach as other places he either owns or is familiar with. Investigators have been to these places, in part to interview others familiar with him. On one station I was watching, a guest said that an investigator had seen something earlier that suggested the guy was in there, hence the response.
