If a handful of people show up at a pro-Palestinian rally with signs supporting Hamas, for whatever misguided reason, they are almost certain to get media coverage. It reminds me of the George Floyd protests. I saw two people carrying DEFUND THE POLICE signs on TV and the media immediately surrendered to the "Democrats want to defund the police" narrative which was a convenient cudgel for people who didn't want to own up to the obvious problems of racist American policing practices.

Yes, there are some pro-Hamas rallies, particularly on college campuses, but the coverage they receive is disproportionate to the number of sympathizers they represent.

A poll here: https://thehill.com/policy/international/4255413-most-americans-us-government-support-israel/

Most Americans believe the U.S. government should publicly express support for Israel in its war against the Palestinian militant group Hamas, a new poll found.

The NPR-PBS News Hour-Marist poll found that nearly two in three Americans — or roughly 65 percent — say the government should publicly support Israel. About 23 percent said the U.S. should say or do nothing related to the conflict, and 8 percent say the U.S. should publicly criticize Israel.

Disagree. Most people know bombing kids is wrong. The issue is that most people aren't the ones in power. WhiskeyGrinder Oct 2023 #3
It's crazy. I don't remember many people having protests opposing Jewish kids being massacred by Hamas. MyNameIsJonas Oct 2023 #4
