You know what I find both curious and amazing? Conservatives who are my age who complain about and put down unions. If I were a betting man I'd say a large percentage of them have/had at least one parent who was a union member. The funny thing is that because that parent was a union member odds are they had a pretty decent childhood. Dad made enough money so that mom didn't have to work unless she wanted to for whatever reason. Dad was probably home on the weekends because of the 40 hour work week - thanks to the union. Dad probably got a good vacation every year - thanks to the union. You probably had health insurance - thanks to the union. Last but not least dad probably got a pretty decent pension - thanks to the union. So bash unions all you want but without them workers are at the mercy of dirt bag bosses.
This friend's father was a union man.
After the election my older brother posted something about military absentee ballots and how Romney might have won but they got delayed or something. Well he found the story on what turns out to be a satire website. Sort of like the Onion but military "news". When I pointed that out his girlfriend sent me another link to the same story and I had to set her straight too. They didn't get back to me.
