Did anyone else get their SS check early? I got mine today. I usually don't get until the end of the month--19th-28th.

25. It may depend on the bank.

Several months ago, I switched my SS direct deposit from Bank A to Bank B. The only reason I did so was because Bank B offered me a $325 bonus if I opened an account with them, maintained a certain minimum balance, and HAD TOTAL DIRECT DEPOSITs to my account in an amount > $1,500 within the first 90 days of opening the account. Not only that, but if I opened a credit card with them and charged more than, I forget, but I think only $500, with them in the first 90 days they'd credit me $200.

So I switched my SS to them and unlike my original bank, I got this pending notice around 4 days before it actually hit my account. Not only that, it was also AVAILABLE prior to the actual deposit date.

What you are missing could be that banks are different in their treatment of the availability of SS payments. My Bank A NEVER would show my payment as pending (except for the evening prior), it was only availabe on the 2nd Wednesday of the month, period.

Oh, and the easiest $525 I've made in quite some time! I have no idea why this is worth this to them.
